About Us

Established in 2018 as a not for profit company, the Sport and Social Change Network brought together professionals working in the fields of youth work, community empowerment and sports development to create a new platform for sport across the island of Ireland.

Recognising the power that sport and physical activity has not only to engage young people in positive activities, but to act as a pathway for personal development, support and progression, we implement projects across Ireland to bring communities together, tackle inequality and support young people to make a positive impact and change in their community.

Working in partnership with stakeholders and organisations on a local, regional, national and international basis we seek to build networks and partnerships that share best practice, resources and opportunities to create positive impact in the communities in which we work.

Our work and reach has allowed us to work with major sporting partners since our launch, delivering projects and partnerships on behalf of Cricket Ireland, the Celtic FC Foundation and most recently with the Rio Ferdinand Foundation.

Our work is aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals that were adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, which are an urgent call for action by all countries – developed and developing – in a global partnership. They recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests.
