Hope Hackathon

 

In the summer of 2021 young people and staff from the Sport and Social Change Network Ireland attended the Belfast Hackathon – a youth consultation event drawing young people together from across Northern Ireland to discuss racism and division through their own experiences.

Attended by the Mayor of Belfast, local MLA;s and stakeholders the event gave young people a chance to attend workshops and present findings to stakeholders and youth organisations, including our own, to inform solutions.

The event also gave our staff the opportunity to engage with other partners working in our field and using sport to bring about positive change including the Rio Ferdinand Foundation, Glentoran FC and NI Hyatt.

The Hope collective is a youth movement working across the UK to consult with young people on the root causes and solutions to poverty and inequality. For more information:
