Project Description
Breaking Barriers
As a designated delivery partner for the Celtic FC Foundation, the charity arm of the iconic Glasgow based SPL club Celtic FC, the Sport and Social Change Network delivered football-based activity and workshops to tackle racism and division and build more inclusive communities on the island of Ireland.
Focused on the counties of Derry, Donegal, Sligo and Mayo our programming included regular football coaching in community facilities, accredited training in sports leadership and community tournaments to celebrate friendship and cohesion.
This programme was paused after two years of delivery in 2020 due to the Covid19 pandemic and resulting restrictions.
